Google Search Insights

Track how your Hellopeter profile performs in Google search results and monitor your organic visibility.

Plan info: Google Search Insights is a Premium-only feature. Upgrade your plan to access this feature.

Google Search Insights shows you exactly how customers discover your Hellopeter profile through Google search. You'll track impressions, clicks, click-through rates, search rankings, and the specific search terms driving traffic to you.

Understanding Google Search Insights

When your Hellopeter profile or reviews appear in Google search results, that's an impression. When a customer clicks through to view your profile, that's a click. This page measures both, helping you understand your organic search value.

For a South African business, appearing in Google search for local queries (e.g., "best plumber in Cape Town") is critical. This page shows you whether you're showing up and whether customers are clicking through.

Accessing Google Search Insights

Navigate to Insights > Google in your portal. If you're on a Premium plan, you'll see your search data immediately. If you're on a Growth plan, a blurred overlay prompts you to upgrade.

Tip: Data syncs from Google Search Console. It may take 1 - 2 days for new data to appear after significant activity changes.

Core Search Metrics

At the top of your dashboard, four stat cards show your search performance:

Impressions - How many times your profile or reviews appeared in Google search results. Higher impressions mean better visibility. Track the percentage change to see whether you're becoming more discoverable.

Clicks - How many times customers clicked through from search to your Hellopeter profile. This is your actual traffic from Google.

Avg CTR (Click-Through Rate) - The percentage of impressions that resulted in clicks. If you have 100 impressions and 10 clicks, your CTR is 10%. Higher CTR means your search listing is compelling.

Avg Position - Your average ranking position in search results (lower numbers are better). Position 1 - 3 is excellent; position 10+ suggests limited visibility. Track this to understand where you rank for your key search terms.

Note: Position changes over time as Google's algorithm updates and competitors' activity changes. Monitor trends, not daily fluctuations.

Impressions vs Clicks Over Time

This area chart visualises your impressions and clicks side-by-side over your selected period. The gap between the two lines shows unconverted visibility - opportunities where you appeared in search but didn't get clicked.

Use this to:

•       Spot seasonality - Do certain months have higher search visibility?

•       Measure improvement - After optimising your profile description or ratings, do clicks increase?

•       Identify outliers - If impressions spike but clicks don't, your listing may be appearing but not compelling enough

Search Terms Table

This table shows the exact search queries that led customers to your Hellopeter profile. Each row includes:

•       Search Term - The customer's actual search query (e.g., "plumber near me," "best restaurant in Johannesburg")

•       Clicks - How many times someone clicked your profile from this search

•       Impressions - How many times you appeared for this query

•       CTR - Your click-through rate for this specific search

•       Position - Your average ranking position for this query

Use Search Terms Data

Understand customer intent - "Fast pizza delivery" tells you customers care about speed. "Healthy pizza options" reveals a different need. Use these insights to tailor your messaging.

Optimise for high-volume terms - If "restaurant near me" has 200 impressions but only 10 clicks (5% CTR), your listing isn't compelling for that query. Improve your profile description or images.

Target improvement opportunities - Low-impression terms you want to rank for? Build content (reviews, responses, profile updates) around those keywords.

Find underutilised terms - If you rank well (1 - 3) for a query but it drives no traffic, customers may not be searching that term - deprioritise it.

Search filter - Use the search box to find specific terms or patterns (e.g., search "delivery" to see all delivery-related queries).

Tip: Click the Clicks column header to sort by traffic, revealing which search terms are actually driving customers to you.

Page Results Table

This table shows your Hellopeter pages that appear most often in Google search results. Each row includes:

•       Page - Your profile page title and URL

•       Clicks - How many clicks that page received

•       Impressions - How many times it appeared

•       CTR - Click-through rate

•       Position - Average ranking position

Multiple pages can appear in Google search results - your main business profile, individual review pages, collections (e.g., "Best restaurants"), etc.

Monitor which pages drive the most traffic and ensure those pages have strong content and accurate information.

Improving Your Search Visibility

Encourage more reviews - More reviews means more pages Google indexes and more entry points in search. Keep collecting reviews.

Respond to all reviews - Active engagement signals quality to Google and makes your profile more likely to appear and be clicked.

Use rich profile information - Complete your Hellopeter profile fully: description, categories, contact info. This feeds Google and improves your search appearance.

Build consistency - Regularly updated profiles with fresh reviews and responses rank higher. Activity signals relevance.

Target local keywords - If you're in Durban, mention "Durban" in your profile description and invite customers to mention the location in reviews. This helps you rank for "Durban + [your service]" searches.

Empty State

If your profile is brand new or hasn't appeared in Google search yet, this page displays an empty state. The timeline varies - from days to weeks for initial indexing. Keep collecting reviews and responding actively; Google prioritises profiles with fresh activity.
