Trust Badges: Verified Review Badge and Ribbon Badge

Add compact trust signals to your website with minimal effort.

Trust badges show your rating and review count in a small, persistent format. They're perfect for headers, footers, checkout pages, or email signatures. Unlike full widgets that display individual reviews, badges focus on your aggregate metrics to build credibility at a glance.

Before you start: You need at least 5 positive reviews (4 - 5 stars) in the last 12 months to activate badges.

Verified Review Badge

The Verified Review Badge is a vertical stacked badge. It displays your rating, total review count, and a "Verified by Hellopeter" checkmark. Use it on product pages, footers, or sidebars where you want a compact trust signal.

Getting started:

1. Go to Share > Widgets in your portal.

2. Click Verified Review Badge.

3. Toggle between Desktop and Mobile in the preview (the badge stays the same size on both).

4. Adjust the controls, then copy your embed code.

What you can customise:

Size:

• Widget Width - Choose 150px (favicon only), 200px (compact), or 260px (full wordmark). Taller widths give more breathing room.

Style:

• Look & Feel - Original (Hellopeter branded) or Transparent (custom colours).

• Colours - With Transparent style, pick font colour, border colour, and background. Use the colour picker for precision.

• Star Colour - Change the colour of the average rating star to match your brand.

• Logo - Toggle the Hellopeter logo on or off.

Why use the Verified Review Badge:

• Builds trust through a recognised verification mark.

• Smallest footprint of all widgets (just vertical space).

• Works well in footers, sidebars, and next to product prices.

• The checkmark signals that reviews are genuine and verified.

Tip: The 200px size is a good balance between visibility and space. Use 150px if you're cramped for room, or 260px if you have extra space and want the wordmark to be readable.

Ribbon Badge

The Ribbon Badge is a horizontal banner showing your rating, review count, and optionally your industry ranking. It's ideal for headers, footers, and checkout pages where you have horizontal space.

Getting started:

5. Go to Share > Widgets.

6. Click Ribbon Badge.

7. Toggle between Desktop and Mobile in the preview.

8. Customise on the right, then copy your embed code.

What you can customise:

Size and ranking:

• Widget Width - Choose 200px (compact), 260px (balanced), or 320px (spacious).

• Show Industry Rank - Toggle on to display your ranking within your industry (e.g. "#5 in Retail"). Always available, no conditions.

Style:

• Look & Feel - Original or Transparent.

• Colours - Font, border, background, and star colours (just like the badge above).

• Logo - Show or hide the Hellopeter logo.

Why use the Ribbon Badge:

• Perfect for horizontal spaces like website headers and footers.

• Industry ranking adds an extra credibility boost (if enabled).

• Takes minimal vertical space but makes maximum impact.

• Works great in email footers and checkout headers.

Tip: Enable industry ranking if you rank highly in your category. It's a powerful trust signal that gives visitors confidence you're a top-rated business.

Placement ideas

Headers and footers:

Use either badge in your site header or footer. Many businesses place the Ribbon Badge in their header and Verified Badge in the footer for maximum visibility.

Product pages:

Place a badge next to your product price or description. Visitors make faster purchase decisions when they see your rating.

Checkout pages:

Position a badge above the "Proceed to Payment" button to reassure customers at the moment they're most hesitant.

Email signatures:

Use the Verified Review Badge or Ribbon Badge in your email signature. It builds trust in one-to-one communication.

Blog posts:

Add a Verified Review Badge at the end of blog posts to encourage readers to check your reviews.

Customising colours

Both badges use the Transparent style for maximum flexibility.

With Transparent mode enabled, you can set:

• Font colour - Change text to match your site (dark text on light backgrounds, light text on dark).

• Border colour - Make it blend (same as background) or stand out (contrasting colour).

• Background colour - Match your brand colours or site palette.

• Star colour - Pick the colour of the average rating star.

Use the colour picker to experiment. The preview updates live as you adjust, so you'll see the result instantly.

Tip: For accessibility, make sure text colour has enough contrast with the background. Dark text on light backgrounds and light text on dark backgrounds are easiest to read.

Embed code formats

Both badges support two embedding options:

HTML/JavaScript (recommended):

• Best for SEO. Search engines can crawl your badges.

• No CSS conflicts.

• Works anywhere.

iframe:

• Use if your website has strict security policies.

• Fully isolated from your page.

Copy the code and paste it into your website. The badge loads automatically and updates when you collect new reviews.
